Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Permitly (the "Service"). By creating an account you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company.

1. The Service

Permitly is software for tracking licenses, permits, certifications, insurance policies, inspections, documents and related compliance deadlines. Permitly is a record-keeping and reminder tool. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal, regulatory or insurance advice. You remain solely responsible for determining and meeting your own compliance obligations.

2. Accounts

• You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account, including team members you invite.
• Account owners may assign roles that grant others access to your business's records.

3. Trials, billing and cancellation

• New accounts receive one 30-day free trial. No payment method is required to start it.
• After the trial, access requires an active subscription — $25 per month or $200 per year.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time from Settings → Billing.
• Cancelling stops future charges; access continues through the period already paid for.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We never store your full card details.

4. Your content

You retain all rights to the documents and data you upload. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display that content solely to operate the Service for you — including sending the reminders you configure and running the AI extraction features you invoke.

5. Acceptable use

• Do not upload unlawful content or content you lack the right to store.
• Do not attempt to access another customer's data or probe, scan or disrupt the Service.
• Do not resell or white-label the Service without written permission.

6. Reminders and availability

We make reasonable efforts to deliver reminders on time and to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted delivery. Email and SMS depend on third-party carriers. Do not rely on Permitly as your only safeguard against a lapse.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for fines, penalties, lost profits or other indirect damages resulting from a missed deadline.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or that are used unlawfully. On termination you may export your data for 30 days.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
